Who are your clients? My clients are typically female although men are welcome (and can experience postpartum paternal depression). They range in age, from adolescents/teenagers (14 to 19) to adults (until age 65+). The majority of my clients (individuals and couples) are reproductive age or those dealing with cancer or chronic illness.
How long does each therapy session take? Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes for individuals. Couples sessions, home visits and group therapy may be longer (i.e. 90 minutes) and are billed accordingly.
What kind of therapy do you do? I am a cognitive behavioral therapist. Read more about cognitive behavioral therapy HERE! And read more about the types of services I provide HERE.
Do you take insurance? I am not currently on any insurance panels (except for Lyra Health, a mental health employee benefit for employees at sponsoring companies, read more HERE), therefore I am considered an out of network provider and my clients self-pay. However, I often give them a receipt or superbill which they can submit to their insurer for reimbursement. I would recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits: - Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits? - Do I have a deductible for out of network provider? If so, what is it and have I met it yet? - Do I have out of pocket maximum for out of network provider? - Does my plan limit how many sessions per the calendar year I can have with an out of network provider? If so, what is the limit (e.g. 12 sessions)? - Do I need written approval in order for services to be covered (i.e. pre-authorization)? - What is the reimbursement rate for an out of network provider for mental health (if necessary, give them the CPT code 90834) - e.g. 50% or 60% or 70 % - Is there a maximum of this reimbursement rate? - Does my plan cover tele-therapy (online therapy) services?
How much do you charge? Please email, text or call to schedule a free telephone consult which includes a discussion about fees.
